Taking the good with the... reality,

Now that the election is over and I've had a chance to internalize everything, I want to share my thoughts.

While I strongly disagree with the outcome, our democracy functioned exactly as it was designed.  Ballots were cast, votes were counted, and the Electoral College votes were awarded accordingly.  It worked perfectly.  It doesn't mean the outcome is the one we wanted.  The important thing is, it rendered an outcome in the end.

It also proves anyone can run for the highest elected office and win a chance to lead this country.  That's something the framers also designed.  We as Americans are given the right to elect our leaders regardless of background, faith, sexuality, etc.  You may not like the outcome, but be proud you had a say in who represents us in this grand American republic.

Lastly, and I direct this to Donald Trump and his supporters.  You've won.  Congratulations on a hard fought race.  Seriously, congratulations.

Now, I need you to listen to me for a second.

Please be the president you've promised to be, a president for all of us.  I don't agree with most of your views and, quite frankly, I'm very concerned about where this country is headed and the negative realities that have come to the surface during the campaign.  You have a real responsibility now.  To govern this country and continue its long held traditions.  Please remember the United States has always been great.  You are now the stewards of that greatness.  Don't let me down.  Don't let America down.

See, you've inherited a sacred trust.  One that shouldn't be taken lightly.  You hold the ability to change the country, and the world.  Please be mindful of that.  Make honest decisions and make them for the right reasons.  Don't be bullied by outside forces.  Try to do what's right by and for the American people.  Don't be afraid to compromise.

You scare a lot of people.  A lot of us don't agree with you.  Many never will, myself included.  In fact, I intend to fight you at every turn as long as I believe the cause is just.   And maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to fight on the same side of the issue.  As your election has proven, anything is possible.  Please understand though, your office does not make you right and me wrong.  It means you have a responsibility to listen to everyone and weigh their positions along with your own.

That said, I will always respect the office of president.  I will always fight to defend this country in my own way.

Again, please prove me wrong and be the president we deserve and not the president everyone believes you are going to be.  Prove me wrong.  The ball is in your court Mr. President-elect.

Until next time dear reader, Be Infinite.
