"Hello boys! I'm baaaaaacccccckkkk."

Well dear reader... where do I begin?

A common question for anyone telling a story I guess.  It's one that I ask myself multiple times an hour for eight hours every day.  Most every time... I have an answer.  And I usually change it a couple of times.

Speaking of questions and answers, it seems appropriate to answer one I am sure you've had at least once in recent months.

"Where is Mason and why hasn't he updated his blog?"

The answer is, quite simply, busy.

Well, that's partially true.  While I've been busy, I've also managed to fall off the scale if you will.  And because of it, I've been rather ashamed wishing more than ever to stay away from this blog and admit my lapse in judgement.

But, I'm an honest chap and can admit when I'm wrong.

I've encountered some bumps along my weight loss journey.

Now to you, those bumps are small.  To me, they're craters of epic proportions mentally speaking.

Here are the factors.

My work schedule changed as did my sleep schedule.  Along with that... I became "lazy."  While I continued my Weight Watchers, I didn't do it with the gusto I had before.  The same could be said for my exercise routines.

I also found myself falling into old "400 pound Mason" habits.  For example:  not paying attention to the food I put in my body or how much, eating/snacking at odd times, not sleeping enough, not drinking enough water or exercising much at all.

I found myself drifting back to a place I vowed I would never again step foot.  It was scary.

The thing is, I managed to avoid large amounts of weight gain.  In fact, since my last blog post, I've only gained about three pounds.

That demonstrates to me that I can almost maintain my weight.  So when I get to my goal, I should be able to stay there.

Even so, I wanted/needed to get back on track.  But how to do that?

Here's the answer.  And it was always right in front of me.

Long story short, I'm back on track and I have been for about a week now.  I've been exercising regularly and eating properly.  And, I've already seen some of the pounds disappearing.

As I've always known, the road before me is a long one.

So, in the words of The Doctor, "Allons-y!"

Oh!  And before I forget.  A few blogs back I mentioned a 5k may be in my future.

That is indeed the case.  In fact, I've just registered for my first one:  The Turtle Krawl.

For my next entry, I'll fill you in on how I'm preparing and some other fun details.

Until next time dear reader, be infinite.
